Donald's caravan is a modified Jayco poptop, single axle. The door has been widened and a custom wide entry door fitted, coupled with a customised DHollandia Wheelchair lift for easy - safe entry.
As Donald uses a wheelchair he enlisted help from his step dad Ken for the modifications, with the use of a shower seat Donald is able to transfer from his wheelchair directly into the shower, opposite is the toilet, its open for easy access and transfers.
As Don is a solo traveller, he only needs one bed, as you can see, there is plenty of space for transfers, another benefit of being a solo traveller there is no need to lift the poptop roof! By removing the floor mounted dinette table Don is able to have more floor space and easy transfer onto the lounge. Check out the photo gallery below for more detail, thanks again for sharing, Donald hopes to inspire others to 'Give it a go'!...
Wide entry door, Wheelchair lift under.
Check out this great video of Donald using the wheelchair lift!

Glenn from Victoria has been kind enough to share with us his fully customised caravan, its a 2023 build, only 13ft however its VERY light and VERY accessible! Glenn hopes the final GVM will weigh in under 2000kgs!
Glenn has designed and built his caravan from scratch! The remarkable thing about this build is Glenn is a T4 para! Attempting to build a caravan as an able bodied person is hard enough, imagine building this beautiful caravan while your sitting down! You can clearly see its fitted with a wide door for easy access coupled with the Dhollandia wheelchair lift and the VC CruiseMaster airbag suspension making East/West levelling a breeze!
Fitted with loads of 'off grid' 12v power, the entire roof is fitted with flexible solar panels, the inverter and 12v management system is NEXT LEVEL! Heating/cooling is via the diesel heater also a reverse cycle split system, the list goes on, check out the photo gallery below for more detail, thanks again for sharing, Glenn hopes to inspire others to 'Give it a go'!...

We have a 2020 - 21'6" FULL HIGHT CARAVAN - fully wheelchair custom design. its fitted with a DO35 hitch, power jockey stand, CruiseMaster airbag suspension, essential for East/West levelling, hydraulic stabilisers, essential for the solo traveller!
Also I run a reversing camera on the caravan, this is also essential as a solo traveller.
Its an accessible vehicle, its has a max permissible towing capacity of 3200kgs - 320kgs ball mass - 7200kgs GCM. I have cameras on the rear to aid in hooking up the caravan and highly recommend them!
We have HEAPS of features, entry is via a hydraulic wheelchair lift, wide door, the bathroom is across the front of the caravan, shower on the left and toilet on the right with no steps! The bed is a loft bed that lowers from the ceiling, when its raised we have a lounge, table area under with wheelchair turning space.

Stuart found his caravan 12pin plug was getting VERY hot when the caravan was hooked up to his tow vehicle.
Its nice to have only ONE plug when hooking up your rig, however if you are drawing a large amount of 12v power from your tow vehicle then you might want to consider adding some anderson plugs to take the load - problem solved!
Thanks for sharing Stuart!
